Although the polar vortex is making its way through Central and Eastern Canada bringing frigid weather and chilling winds, the city of Toronto is operating as per usual. In fact, despite the cold weather, you won't want to miss the one-of-a-kind events happening this spring!

Are you visiting from out of town? Simply pack yourself a Canadian Goose jacket, Blundstones, yellow waterproof boots and you're ready to enjoy your time in one of Canada's largest cities.

TD Northern Lamps

As you're braving through the snow and exploring the city, be sure to pass by the TD Centre Plaza. Until March 31st, the plaza is decorated to resemble the Northern Lights, bringing the beautiful Aureal Borealis to downtown Toronto. This unique art installation is a collaboration with 10 Inuit artists, paying tribute to personal experiences of the polar lights.

Ai Weiwei: Unbroken

A respected and provocative artist, Ai Weiwei unveils his latest exhibition at the Gardiner Museum. The exhibition showcases iconic ceramic works by Ai Weiwei himself and notable international artists and human rights activists. The exhibit runs from Feb 28 to June 9th and is included with general admission.

Toronto Comicon

Presented by Fan Expo Canada, Toronto Comicon is a three-day extravaganza of exhibitions, cosplay, gaming, presentations, workshops and plenty of celebrity sightings. Celebrate all things comic-related and see your favorite superheroes, villains, and comic artists under one roof. The pop culture convention takes place between March 15-17 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

After adventuring through the city, stay warm in a comfortable room at the Deluxe Inn Toronto. This hotel offers comfort at an affordable price and only an arm's reach from popular attractions.
