Winter is coming and it isn’t something to be afraid of! Instead, it’s time dust off your ice skates an get ready for a month of delightful winter activities. Torontonians and visitors alike can skate the winter blues away at the re-converted public ice-skating trail,
The Bentway Skate Trail.

Once a neglected area, the newly renovated space underneath the Gardiner Expressway now offers a venue for art shows, park space, and a year-round program of events.

Opening December 21st, the Bentway is transformed to a 220-metre long skate trail configured into a figure-eight shape. This is the second year that the Bentway sees this wintery transformation after a successful first run saw over 50,000 visitors last December.

“Who would want to hang out under an expressway? Lots of Torontonians, apparently,” declared Alex Bozikovic, Architecture Critic for The Globe and Mail. “In praise of The Bentway,” began a Toronto Star editorial. “It’s very Canadian,” proclaimed the CBC.

Join in celebrating Toronto’s coolest and most Instagram-worthy ice trail at the "Skate the 8 in the Six" celebration, the Bentway's opening weekend.

You can find 'curated' food, drinks, and an expanded winter village with a warming lounge and fire pit and of course, free WIFI. All of these activities add up to enough entertainment for the whole family to enjoy!

Additionally, if your skates are buried beneath boxes in your attic or are too chunky to pack in your luggage, skate rentals and skating lessons are offered.

After an afternoon in the ice and snow, spend your evening relaxing at the Deluxe Inn Toronto, with its newly renovated rooms at unbeatable rates. The Deluxe Inn is ideal for affordable, comfortable accommodations in the Greater Toronto area.
